This horse head originally comes from a fresco decorating the fronton originates from the Acropole. The scene represents the birth of Athena, with all of Zeus's army emerging. All the Gods were present, the chariot of the Sun, Helios emerging from the Ocean marking the daylights arrival, and the chariot of the moon Selena, tracted by horses, plunging into the ocean. This head is conserved in th London Museum.
